Duquesne's men's soccer team fell to 0-2 in Atlantic 10 play with a hard fought, 2-1 overtime loss to visiting Charlotte Sunday afternoon on Rooney Field. Senior Cory Bachstein scored for the Dukes off a Jamie Waugh assist.

Charlotte lit the scoreboard early, taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute on a ball lofted into the net from 20 yards out. The Dukes responded soon after in the 10th minute as Bachstein scored from 15 yards out in front of the net off a pass from Waugh.

The next 90 minutes remained scoreless, though chippy as five yellow cards and two red cards were issued before the 49ers tallied the winner in the 98th minute.

Senior Chris Torres made seven saves in goal as Charlotte outshot DU 18-10.

The Dukes return to action on Friday, Oct. 15 as they travel to Fordham for a 7:00 pm contest.
