NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Redshirt junior Samantha Pollino (Johnstown, Pa./Conemaugh Valley) was named Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Pollino averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the Dukes' two conference road victories this week.

She scored 15 points and recorded six rebounds in DU's 57-52 win at St. Bonaventure on Jan. 13. Pollino scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Duquesne's 69-63 victory over Fordham Jan. 17.

This is the second A-10 weekly honor for Pollino who was previously named player of the week on Feb. 23, 2009.

The Dukes (13-5, 3-0) are out to its best A-10 start since the 1997-98 season when they opened up 4-0.
