Duquesne's men's soccer team suffered its first defeat of the season, losing at Michigan State Friday evening, 3-1.

Freshman Joshua Patterson tallied his second goal of the season to stave off the shutout in the 85th minute, scoring on a deflection in front with the assist going to junior Ben Horner. Junior Chris Torres made seven saves in goal as the Dukes were outshot, 14-5.

The Red and Blue will return to action on Monday, Sept. 7 as they travel to St. Francis (Pa.) for a 4:00 pm contest.
