Duquesne's baseball team lost its final game in Winter Haven, Fla., falling to Northeastern on Thursday, 3-2.

Freshman Michael Pelekanos made his collegiate pitching debut, tossing 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs while striking out four. Sophomore Andrew Heck hurled the final 2 2/3 scoreless innings.

Heck and freshman Rick Devereaux each had two hits while freshman Matt Carson had the lone DU RBI.

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday as they travel to #17 (NCBWA) Florida for a 6:30 pm contest. The Dukes and Gators will also play on Saturday and Sunday at noon.
