Duquesne's baseball team lost its Atlantic 10 opener at Temple Friday afternoon, 8-5. Andrew Heck went 2-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Anthony Manley and Rick Devereaux also had two hits each while Bill Torre, Derek Fallecker and Brian Bernardo drive in runs.

The Dukes jumped to a 3-0, second inning lead, but the Owls scored three in the third and three, three in the fifth and two insurance runs in the eighth to take the win.

Game two of the three-game series will be played Saturday at 1:00 pm.
