BRONX, NY - Bill Clark led five players in double figures with 22 points and Aaron Jackson added his third double-double of the season with 10 points and a career high-tying 11 rebounds as Duquesne snapped a two-game losing streak with an 89-68 win at Fordham.
The 21-point margin of victory was the largest ever by a Duquesne team in an Atlantic 10 road game.
The win upped Duquesne's record to 13-6 overall and 4-2 in the Atlantic 10. The loss was the eighth in a row for Fordham which fell to 2-15 overall and 0-5 in the A-10.
Melquan Bolding had 19 points, Jason Duty scored 18 and Eric Evans had 13 for the Dukes. Jackson, who had zero points and two rebounds at the half, made a run at a triple-double with seven assists.
Duty and Clark went a combined 8-of-13 from the 3-point arc with four 3-pointers each.
Duquesne held Fordham to 2-of-23 shooting from the 3-point arc and 39.3 percent for the game, while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. The Dukes outrebounded the Rams 46-34.
"I'm excited about the way we got out and defended their 3-point shooters," said head coach Ron Everhart. "We also did an excellent job of sharing the ball. Coming in here and scoring 89 points is a very difficult thing to do."
Clark went 4-of-4 from the 3-point arc in scoring 16 points as Duquesne raced out to a 43-27 halftime lead. Fordham briefly cut the lead to 15 early in the second half, as the Dukes maintained a 20-point margin for the majority of the second 20 minutes.
Duty, who was coming off a career-high 20 points in Wednesday's overtime loss as Saint Joseph's, went 6-of-10 from the field and 4-of-7 from the 3-point arc.
"Jason Duty is playing as well as any guard, anywhere, right now," said Everhart. "If someone would have told me before the game that we'd win with Aaron [Jackson] and Damian [Saunders] scoring 14 points, I wouldn't have believed them. Melquan, Jason and Eric gave us great efforts and Billy Clark really stepped up by hitting some big shots early."
Saunders, who finished with a season-low four points, contributed nine rebounds and three steals.
Duquesne returns home to face St. Bonaventure on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7:00 p.m.
