The Duquesne University baseball team finished the 2008 season with an all-time best ranking of 111 out of 296 schools in the NCAA's Ratings Performance Index (RPI). The Dukes had the second highest ranking in the Atlantic 10 Conference behind only league champion Charlotte.
The Red and Blue posted a 26-29 record and played nine games versus top 25 competition including three against Florida State which was third in RPI and three versus LSU which was eighth. Duquesne finished the season third in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 16-10 record and advanced to the final four teams at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Dukes open the 2009 season on Saturday, Feb. 21 as they travel to South Carolina for a three-game series.
