Third-year coach Jake Ouimet recently announced the 2008 Duquesne University men's soccer schedule. The Dukes will play 19 regular season contests with the home slate being highlighted by the Duquesne Invitational and the Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Red and Blue open play on August 29 as they face Binghamton in the first round of the West Virginia Classic, while two days later the Dukes will play the host Mountaineers.
The home opener will be on Sept. 4 versus Pitt, before taking on St. Francis (Pa.) on Sept. 6 at Rooney Field and hosting the Duquesne Invitational Sept. 12-14. Additional non-conference foes include Niagara, Buffalo and Canisius on the road and Robert Morris at home.
The Atlantic 10 season begins on Oct. 10 as the Red and Blue welcome Temple for the first of four straight home A-10 contests. DU also hosts Saint Joseph's, Rhode Island and UMass and will travel to St. Bonaventure, Charlotte, Saint Louis, George Washington and Richmond.
The season will culminate as Duquesne hosts the Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time in school history, Nov. 13-16 with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
