Game 1 Box Score | Game 2 Box Score

Duquesne's baseball team split a Sunday double-header with visiting Xavier, winning game one, 10-1 and losing the nightcap, 7-1. The Red and Blue now share first place with Xavier and Charlotte.

In game one, Bill Torre launched a two-run home run in the second inning to give DU a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish. Torre went 3-3 in the game while Anthony Manley went 3-5. Derek Mechling and Aaron Janusey each hit their 10th home run of the season while Dante Plassio knocked in two runs. Paul Bugajski tossed seven scoreless innings while striking out four.

In game two, Joe Lombardo had two of Duquesne's five hits off the bench including his first collegiate home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to thwart XU's shutout bid.

The Dukes have added a game to their schedule, hosting Washington and Jefferson on Tuesday at 4:00 pm at Duquesne Field.
