Duquesne's baseball team sropped its series opener at Temple Friday afternoon, 5-4. The Dukes jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Owls responded with a run in the first and three in the third to tie the game, 4-4 after three innings. TU scored the decisive run in the sixth.

Derek Mechling led off the game with a solo home run and Pat Kimutis went 2-4 with two RBI. Aaron Janusey extended his hitting streak to 13 games.

The Dukes and Owls meet again Saturday at 1:00 pm. Sunday's game can be viewed live on the internet.
