Duquesne's baseball team opened Atlantic 10 play on Friday with a double-header sweep of visiting UMass. The Dukes won game one, 2-0 and took game two, 6-2.
Ryan Juran and Paul Bugajski gave the Dukes solid efforts on the mound as Juran tossed the complete game shutout in game one allowing just five hits while striking out four and Bugasjki went seven innings in the nightcap, scattering just three hits while striking out six.
In game one, five different Dukes accounted for the teams fve hits with Bill Torre notching the lone RBI.
In game two, Anthony Manley had two, two-RBI doubles to highlight the offense while Mark Tracy blasted his first homer as a Duke. Eric Morrison and Andrew Heck each had two hits as well.
Game three of the series is slated for Saturday at noon at Seton Hill.
