Box Score

Duquesne's baseball team jumped out to a 3-0, first inning lead Saturday afternoon at LSU, but two Tigers runs in the first and 12 in the third put a halt to the Dukes' upset hopes as they lost 22-11.

The Red and Blue woke up the bats though on Saturday, belting out 14 hits, led by junior Mike Carroll and sophomore Derek Fallecker who had three hits apiece. Seniors Derek Mechling and Eric Morrison and junior Bill Torre each had two RBI.

Freshman pitcher Joe Lombardo tossed 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

The third and final game of the series will be played Sunday at Noon EST.
