WHO, WHAT, WHERE AND WHEN: The Duquesne women's basketball team (8-3), coming off a 28-point win over Saint Francis, Pa. Thursday night, plays their final game before Christmas Sunday afternoon when they visit IPFW (2-7) at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
DUKES AND MASTODONS: Duquesne and IPFW have played only once - Dec. 16, 2007 - an 83-74 Dukes win at the Palumbo Center. Kristi Little had a team-high 18 points and grabbed a then career-high eight rebounds as Duquesne improved to 6-4 on the season.
DUQUESNE LATELY: All five of Duquesne starters recorded double-figure scoring led by Kristi Little's game-high 18 points as the Dukes won their second straight game defeating Saint Francis, Pa. 87-59 Thursday night at the Palumbo Center. DU is averaging 71.1 points per game and has won back-to-back game since dropping three in a row.
IPFW LATELY: Fell to Eastern Illinois Dec. 13th 90-63 after winning their first Summit League game of the season against Southern Utah 96-67. The Mastodons are led by Chelsey Jackson (11.6 ppg) and Jordan Zuppe (10.9ppg).
AGAINST THE SUMMIT LEAGUE: Duquesne has only played one game against a Summit League team - last season versus IPFW. However, the Dukes have played six games against the Summit League's predecessor the Mid-Continent Conference, going 4-4.
GIMME FIVE...ON THE DOUBLE: The tandem of Little, Kelly Britcher, Samantha Pollino, Keri Pryor and Rachel Frederick became the first starting five since Nov. 17, 2001 to hit double-figures. The last starting five to record double-figure scoring was Candace Futrell, Beth Friday, Shiri Sharon, Oxana Shetko and Nikolina Pender in the 2001-02 season against Cleveland State - a span of 211 games.
CENTURY CLUB: Little and Frederick look to become members of Duquesne's 1,000 point club. Little entered the season with 777 points and needs 81 points for 1,000. Frederick started this season with 806 points and needs 83 points for 1,000.
GREAT EIGHT: Frederick hit all eight of her foul shots Thursday night against Saint Francis, Pa.
LOOKING AHEAD: After Christmas, Duquesne will play in the University of Miami Holiday Tournament. Dec. 29, the Dukes will play #10 Auburn and will face either Brown or Miami on Dec. 30. DU will return home to face Missouri Dec. 3.
