The Duquesne University men's soccer team held 15th-ranked West Virginia in check for 88 minutes, but a WVU corner kick in the 89th minute led to a goal and a 1-0 win over the Dukes.
The Red and Blue fall to 0-2-1 on the season while West Virginia improves to 3-1-0.
Duquesne was outshot 16-4 in the contest with the Mountaineers putting six shots on goal to the Dukes zero. Freshman Chris Torres made five saves in goal.
The Dukes will look for their first win this weekend as they compete in Richmond's Nike Challenge Cup. DU will face Campbell on Friday at 5:30 pm before taking on Binghamton Saturday at 5:30.
