Game Time

Duquesne (7-18, 2-10) begins their final homestand of the 2006-07 season Friday evening as they host Temple (22-5, 12-0) ... the Dukes are looking to end a nine-game slide ... TU has won seven in a row and 17 of their past 18 ... the Red & Blue are 4-7 on the Palumbo hardwood this season ... the Owls are 10-3 on the road.

The Coaches

Duquesne's Dan Durkin is in his 14th season at the helm of the Duquesne women's basketball program and as a head coach. He posts a 176-215 career mark. Durkin is a 1975 graduate of Mount St. Mary's. He is 10-9 against Temple.

Temple's Dawn Staley is in her seventh year as coach of the Owls. She owns a 148-64 record with TU. Staley is a 1992 graduate of Virginia. She has an 8-0 mark against Duquesne.

The Series

Friday, Duquesne and Temple meet for the 36th time. The Owls lead the all-time series 25-10 which began Jan. 5, 1984. TU has won eight in a row against the Dukes including two meetings last year; a 79-44 regular-season win at the Liacouras Center and a 76-63 semifinal victory in the Atlantic Tournament.

Duquesne fell to 7-18, 2-10 after their 71-59 loss at St. Bonaventure Sunday ... the Red & Blue has seen its roster cut short due to injury / illness ... three players are currently sidelined in Brittany Warren, Samantha Pollino and Keri Pryor ... Loui Hall's eight points at St. Bonaventure moved her into sixth place on the Dukes' all-time scoring list.

Owls Lately

Received 18 votes in the latest AP Top 25 poll ... won their seventh game in a row Sunday at Charlotte ... only one of two teams to win at Charlotte since Dec. 18, 2005 ... riding longest unbeaten streak since winning six in a row to open the 2005-06 season ... next game is at #9 George Washington to determine the Atlantic 10 regular-season champion.
