WHO, WHAT AND WHERE: The Duquesne women's basketball team opens its home schedule tonight at 7:00 p.m. against cross-town rival Robert Morris at the Palumbo Center.
DUKES AND COLONIALS: Tonight marks the 38th contest between Duquesne and Robert Morris. The Dukes lead the all-time 25-12. The first meeting was Feb. 9, 1974, a 60-53 DU victory. Duquesne has played Robert Morris more times than any non-conference opponent in program history. RMU won the contest last season 66-59 at the Sewall Center.
DUQUESNE LATELY: The Dukes played their second consecutive team from a "power conference" Monday night, falling 90-82 in overtime at Cincinnati from the Big East Conference. Keri Pryor and Kristi Little each recorded career-highs with 28 and 23 points respectively against the Bearcats. Little's previous best was 21 at Clemson Nov. 14. She leads the Dukes in scoring (21.0 ppg), assists (6.3 apg) and steals (5.0 spg). She trails only La Salle's Carlene Hightower (23.3 ppg) in Atlantic 10 scoring. Her 6.3 apg and 5 steals per game are both tops in the A-10.
ROBERT MORRIS LATELY: Robert Morris is coming off their best season in school history, as the Colonials went 24-8 and were the Northeast Conference champions ... 2006-07 also marked the first time in school history RMU earned a birth in the NCAA Tournament ... Robert Morris is 1-1 on the season ... lost 67-63 at Florida ... won 90-65 vs. Kent State ... Sade Logan leads the Colonials with 21.5 ppg ... Chinata Nesbit is RMU's top rebounder averaging 9.5 per game ... Robert Morris is coached by Sal Buscaglia, who is in his fifth season at RMU (68-52) and 30th overall (565-243).
LOOKING AHEAD: After tonight's game, Duquesne will host Towson Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Dukes will hit the road for a pair of games - Nov. 27 at Saint Francis, Pa. and Dec. 1 at Princeton before a three-game homestand that beging with Binghamton Dec. 4. DU will also host West Virginia Dec. 7 and IPFW Dec. 16.
