View Duquesne's 2006-07 Women's Basketball Schedule
PITTSBURGH, PA - Six post-season squads are on tap for the Duquesne women's basketball team on their 27-game 2006-07 schedule announced today. Highlighting the slate are home games at the Palumbo Center with defending A-10 Champion and NCAA participant Temple Feb. 23 as well as WNIT participants Pitt Nov. 19 and Saint Joseph's Feb. 25. Other post-season squads on the docket include George Washington (NCAA) and WNIT teams Charlotte and Xavier.
Dan Durkin enters his 14th-year as the Dukes' Head Coach hosting Saint Francis (Pa.) Nov. 14 to start a three-game home stand, which also includes cross-town rival Pitt Nov. 19 and Niagara Nov. 22. Duquesne will compete in two in-season tournaments traveling to the UNC-Wilmington Hilton Riverside Classic over Thanksgiving facing Furman and either the host Seahawks or Youngstown State. After a trip up the Parkway to take on local rival Robert Morris, the Dukes will head to the Cornell Classic to take on Radford and then Morgan State or Cornell. Other non-conference bouts include contests at Akron and West Virginia.
After a month on the road, Duquesne heads back to the Palumbo Center to host Princeton Dec. 22 to begin a six-game home stand which includes Clemson, William & Mary and the A-10 opener with St. Bonaventure. DU also will host Rhode Island and Saint Louis in the series.
Mid-January will test the Dukes which see a four-game road series facing back-to-back WNIT teams as they travel to Charlotte and Xavier in addition to trips at Dayton and at La Salle. The season wraps up strong with home games versus Temple and Saint Joseph's.
The 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship will take place Mar. 2-5 at Xavier's Cintas Center with the league's top 12 seeds vying for the Atlantic 10 title and NCAA automatic bid.
