Adam Haun Pitches Duquesne to 3-2 Win over GW

Green Tree, Pa. - Senior Adam Haun pitched another complete game as the Dukes held off George Washington, 3-2, Friday afternoon at Duquesne Field in the Pittsburgh suburbs. Sophomore Eric Morrison led the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 including two doubles, a walk and an RBI.

The Dukes were first on the board after Morrison's first double drove in classmate Derek Mechling in the second inning. Mechling scored again in the fourth on junior Alex Sharick's one-out single. Sophomore Nolan Pena crossed the plate with DU's eventual winning run via junior Joe Berletic's single in the fifth as Duquesne took a 3-0 edge.

Haun, who held the Colonials to three hits, gave up just one earned run the rest of the way for his fourth win of the season.

The victory keeps the Dukes in the hunt for one of the two remaining playoff spots iin next week's Altantic 10 Conference Championship tournament.

Duquesne (19-33, 12-14 A-10) and George Washington (21-32, 12-12 A-10) meet in both teams' final game of the regular season Saturday, May 20, 2006, at noon. The Dukes need another win to stay in the running for the postseason.
