Red and Blue Fall to 49ers, 3-1

Green Tree, Pa. - Duquesne's baseball team dropped game two of its three-game series with visiting Charlotte, 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Duquesne Field.

The Dukes offense was most effective at the top of lineup. Junior Corey Bugno went 2-4 with a double and scored the Dukes' lone run in the ninth inning. He batted after freshman lead-off hitter Anthony Manley, who also had two hits.

Senior Adam Haun hurled a complete game, allowing just five hits while striking out eight.

Duquesne (18-31, 11-12 Atlantic 10) did have eight hits but weren't able to cross the plate until their final at-bat.

Charlotte's (30-18-1, 14-9 A-10) winning runs came on a two-run homer in the sixth inning by Spencer Steedley. Adam Mills also pitched a complete game for the 49ers.

Game three of the series will be played Sunday at noon at Duquesne Field.
