Amherst, Mass. - After being rained out of Friday afternoon's game, Duquesne's baseball team and the Minutemen split Saturday's doubleheader. A four-run 10th inning gave the Dukes an 11-7 win in the opener. UMass rebounded to take the nightcap, 9-6.
Sophomore center fielder Eric Morrison went 7-for-10 in the two games, with four runs scored and one RBI. Classmate Joe Kaye pitched two scoreless innings to close the first game and pick up his second win of the season.
Duquesne (7-19, 3-5 A-10) and UMass (4-14, 2-6 A-10) close the three-game weekend series with a 12:00 noon contest on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Earl Lorden Field.
