The Duquesne University baseball coaching staff will be holding three days worth of camps and clinics from Dec. 27-30 at the Rooney Bubble on Duquesne's campus.
On Wednesday Dec. 27 and Thursday, Dec. 28 from 9:00 am - Noon and 12:30 - 3:30 there will be Holiday Camps which provide in-depth instruction in the areas of pitching/catching, hitting and defense/base running. Local player Neil Walker & Major League Pitcher Josh Sharpless of the Pittsburgh Pirates will be assisting with the Pitchers and Catchers clinic and the Hitting clinics on Wednesday, December 27th. Assisting with the Defense & Baserunning clinic will be Major League infielder Josh Wilson of the Washington Nationals and Dan Schwartzbauer who was named a defensive prospect for the Pirates organization.
On Saturday, Dec. 30th there will be a College Bound Clinic for high school players that will graduate in 2007, 08, 09 & 10. The sessions are from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm and are open to those who are interested in playing at the collegiate level. Schools & Scouts who will be conducting the clinic: Colorado Rockies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Duquesne U., U. of Pittsburgh, Seton Hill U., California U. of PA, Youngstown State U., U. of Akron, Pitt at Greensburg, W & J College, La Roche College, Slippery Rock U. and Thiel College.
