The Coaches: Dan Durkin is in his 13th season at the helm of the Duquesne women's basketball program and as a head coach. He posts a 162-187 career mark. Durkin is a 1975 graduate of Mount St. Mary's. Michael Shafer is in his first season with Richmond and as a head coach. He stands 6-8 overall in his debut. Shafer is a 1994 graduate of William & Mary.
The Series: This marks the fifth meeting between Richmond and Duquesne with the Spiders holding a 7-1 lead. Duquesne is 1-3 at home and 0-4 on the road in the series which began during the 2002 season when Richmond joined the Atlantic 10.
