The Duquesne University women's socer team registered its first Atlantic 10 win of the season with a dramatic, 1-0 triumph in double overtime over vistiting Richmond (2-6-2, 0-1-0).
Scoreless through the first 104 minutes, sophomore Emily Sedgwick stole a Spiders pass near mid-field and lofted it over the defenders with fellow sophomore Audra Mathews sprinting toward the goal. Mathews gathered the pass and beat the keeper for the victory.
Junior Virginia Bondi made six saves in goal to post her second shutout of the season as the Dukes outshot the Spiders, 13-8.
The Red and Blue (6-2-1, 1-1-0) will host Charlotte on Sunday at 1:00 pm at Roony Field.
