Duquesne University shortstop Steve Maiolo (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon)has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the week ending May 22.

Maiolo batted .526 for the week (10-19) with six RBI in five games and had two game-winning hits. His walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning on May 19 gave Duquesne a 3-2 win over Saint Joseph's and secured a third straight berth for the Dukes in the Atlantic 10 Championship. In addition, he had the game-winning single on May 16 in Duquesne's 4-3 defeat of Richmond. He currently leads the Red and Blue with a .350 average.

The fifth-seeded Dukes begin play in the A-10 Championship on Wednesday, May 25 at noon as they face fourth-seeded Dayton at Fifth Third Field in Dayton, OH.
