The Duquesne University baseball team evened its season series with cross-town foe Pitt, defeating the Panthers, 5-1 on Trees Field in Oakland.

Senior Jon Smith hurled his first career complete game, holding Pitt to just one run on four hits while striking out three. Offensively, senior Steve Maiolo was 3-4 with an RBI while freshman Eric Morrison was 3-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI.

The Red and Blue return to action on Thursday, May 19 as they host Saint Joseph's at noon at Duquesne Field.
