Arlington, Va. - Duquesne University's baseball team won the nightcap of a Saturday afternoon doubleheader with a 2-1 victory over George Washington at Barcroft Park in the Virginia suburbs of our nation's capital. Senior Bob Reifschneider hurled a complete game three-hitter for his second win of the season.
GW's hurlers, this time three guys, again limited the Dukes to just three hits in the seven innning game. That was enough this afternoon. After freshman Aaron Janusey led off the fifth with a single, classmate Patrick Kimutis's second career home run gave the Red and Blue all the scoring they needed in this contest.
The Colonials struck back in the bottom of the fifth when Geoff Milsom's two-out single drove in Matt Owens. Reifschneider retired the next seven GW batters to close out any hope the hosts had for a sweep.
The Dukes (13-21) upped their Atlantic 10 mark to 8-6 while GW (24-13) Dropped to 6-5 in league play. The getaway game is scheduled for 12:00 noon, Sunday, April 24th again at Barcroft Park.
