Arlington, Va. - Duquense University's baseball team dropped the first game of a Saturday afternoon doubleheader, 3-1, to George Washington at Barcroft Park in the Virginia suburbs of our nation's capital. Pitcher Derek Lutz (5-0) held the Dukes to three hits in the seven inning game.

DU tied the score 1-1 in the top of the fourth when freshman Aaron Janusey doubled in senior Mike Grecco who had opened the frame with a single. Grecco recorded Duquesne's third hit, a one-out single in the sixth.

The Colonials put up single runs in the fifth and sixth for their 3-1 margin. Junior Scott Chisholm (3-4), who went the distance for Duquesne, gave up six hits in six innings.

GW (24-12) upped their A-10 record to 6-4 while the Dukes (12-21) dropped to 7-6. The second game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
