The Duquesne University men's soccer team improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in Atlantic 10 play with a 1-0 blanking of visiting Temple Sunday afternoon on Rooney Field.

The lone goal came in the 33rd minute as sophomore Nick Balara fired a shot toward the box that deflected off a Temple defender and went into the net for his first collegiate goal. Junior Zach Varga made three saves in net for the Dukes to give him his fourth shutout of the season.

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, Oct. 14 as they host UMass at 7:30 pm on Rooney Field.
