Number 16 Duquesne improved to 9-2-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the Atlantic 10 with a 1-0 win over UMass Friday evening on Rooney Field. Sophomore Travis MacKenzie scored the goal in the 19th minute off an assist from fellow sophomore Nick Balara as Balara lofted a free kick into the box and MacKenzie headed it in.

Junior goalkeeper Zach Varga tallied his fifth shutout of the season, making three saves.

The Dukes, who have won four straight, again outshot their opponent, posting a 13-9 advantage.

The Red and Blue return to action on Sunday as they host Rhode Island on senior day at 1:00 pm.
