Duquesne made quick work of Youngstown State in upping its record to 10-6 with a 3-0 win over the Penguins on Saturday night at the Palumbo Center. The Dukes took the three games - 30-24, 30-28 and 30-24 - in just 86 minutes.
Duquesne was led offensively by junior outside hitter Amanda Haeg with a match-high 14 kills. Senior middle hitter Diana Wuebker added 13 kills, while fellow senior Monica Tinsley added 12 kills and a .500 attack percentage.
Freshman Laura Kastein, sophomore Dana McLaughlin and senior Karisa Decker all had double figure digs with 14, 11 and 10 respectively.
As a team, the Dukes finished with 12 blocks, led by Tinsley with one block and six block assists. YSU finished with match with three blocks.
Sophomore setter Kristen Garnett set Duquesne to a .268 attack percentage as a team for the match, including a .370 clip (20 kills, 3 errors, 46 attacks) in game one.
Ebony Barbosa was the lone Youngstown State player in double figures with 10 kills.
Duquesne returns to conference play on Friday, Oct. 7 at Charlotte. The Charlotte trip begins a stretch of four consecutive road league matches for the Dukes, who are 2-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play.
