Duquesne's women's basketball team heads to New England for a two-game road trip against Massachusetts and Rhode Island. UMass hosts the Dukes on Friday, Jan. 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Mullins Center. Duquesne is led by junior Aiga Bautre's 16.1 points per game and Nicole Sinclair's 8.9 rebounds per contest.

The Series

This will be the 35th match-up between Duquesne and UMass. Massachusetts holds a 19-15 lead in the all-time series which dates back to the 1984 season. The Dukes are 2-12 on the road vs. the Minutewomen. Last season, DU took a 46-42 edge in Pittsburgh and a 73-44 decision in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 tournament. The Dukes have won four of the last five meetings.

UMass Lately

The Minutewomen stand 10-6 overall, 3-2 in A-10 action after taking a 65-54 win over visiting Fordham this past Sunday ... UMass was just 6-22 (2-14) last season ... they have won three of their last five and are 4-1 at home falling to nationally-ranked Boston College ... Pam Rasanio leads UMass with 10.7 ppg ... The Minutewomen ranked 13th in the country in FG Pct. defense (.347) and are 20th in scoring defense (54.1).

The Coaches

Dan Durkin is in his 12th season at the helm of the Duquesne women's basketball program and as a head coach. He posts a 152-171 career mark. Durkin is a 1975 graduate of Mount St. Mary's. Marnie Dacko is in her third year as the UMass mentor and the 10th as a head coach. She is 30-42 with the Minutewomen and 110-146 on her career.
