Four Dukes Receive Post-Season Honors

Four Duquesne University baseball players were named to Atlantic 10 post-season honors Tuesday evening at the Atlantic 10 Championship banquet. Seniors Pete Maropis and Dan Schwartzbauer and sophomore Steve Maiolo were named Atlantic 10 Second Team All-Conference while Maiolo and junior Bob Reifschneider were named to the A-10's All-Academic Team.

Maropis leads the Dukes with seven home runs and 18 doubles this season while Schwartzbauer paces DU with 41 runs scored and is a team-best 22-22 in stolen base attempts. Maiolo currently leads the team in batting average at .340 and has knocked in a team-high 38 runs. Maiolo also boasts a 3.92 grade point average in secondary education while Reifschneider has a 3.63 gpa in finance.

Duquesne will participate in its second straight Atlantic 10 Championship as the sixth-seeded Dukes face the third-seeded Richmond Spiders Wednesday at 3:30 pm in Norwich, CT.
