DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Keith Waleskowski scored 16 points - including five in a late 7-0 run - to lead the Flyers to a 69-56 win over Duquesne on Thursday night in an Atlantic-10 quarterfinal.
The Flyers (23-7) scored their final 12 points on free throws.
Their final field goal came on Waleskowski's offbalance tip-in of Mark Jones' shot with 4:20 left. It touched off a 7-0 Dayton run after the Dukes had scored six points in a row to narrow the lead to 55-53.
Dayton moves into a Friday night semifinal where the Flyers will take on Richmond (20-11) which beat Temple (15-13) 64-49 in the other evening quarterfinal.
Jones added 13 points, Warren Williams came off the bench to score 12 and Sean Finn had 11 - despite making just 1 of 8 foul shots.
Waleskowski had 10 rebounds as the Flyers took a 39-30 advantage on the boards.
Jimmy Tricco scored 16 for Duquesne (12-17) with Jack Higgins adding 12.
After Waleskowski's tip-in, he hit two free throws to push the lead to 59-53. Jones then added two foul shots and Waleskowski hit another to put Dayton ahead 62-53 with 1:47 left.
The Flyers hit 12 of 16 free throws in the final 4 minutes after Waleskowski's tip-in. They finished the game 17 of 28 at the line to the Dukes' 9 of 16.
Dayton hit 54 percent of its shots from the field in the opening half yet still led just 29-28 on Ramod Marshall's end-to-end dash for a layup just before the horn.
The Flyers took the lead for good on Williams' 3-pointer from the right wing with 8:46 remaining.
The Flyers had won both earlier meetings, 70-58 at home and 73-69 in Pittsburgh.
