Dukes Win A-10 Title With 3-0 Bonnies' Win

St. Bonaventure, N.Y. - Duquesne University's men's soccer team repeats as the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season champions with a 3-0 shutout at St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon at McGraw-Jennings Field. This is the team's first ever outright title as the Dukes tied for the crown with Richmond last season.

Duquesne got on the board in the 33rd minute after senior Derek MacKenzie's goal. MacKenzie also had an assist on the day. The Dukes got insurance goals from junior Scott Gibson and freshman Travis MacKenzie in the 40th and 60th minutes, respectively. Junior Noah Salsi added two assists.

DU completes the regular campaign 13-6-0, 9-2-0 in Atlantic 10 play. St. Bonaventure finished the year 8-9-1, 4-7-0 in the league.

Duquesne, which is tied for fourth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Middle Atlantic Region, next competes at the 2004 A-10 Championship Tournament that will be held at the Athletic Complex at Mount Vernon in Washington, D.C., starting Thursday, November 11, 2004.
