Former Duquesne University baseball player Dan Schwartzbauer recently completed his first professional season playing for the Bradenton Pirates of the Gulf Coast League and was the team and league leader in batting average.

Although he will not be found on the league leader list because he had 23 too few at bats, he posted a .366 average, going 45-123 in 35 games. He also led the team with 24 RBI and 13 walks and was among the team leaders in runs (23) and doubles (9) as well.
