DU Women's Basketball Picks Up Mid-Year Transfer

Jan. 11, 2004

PITTSBURGH, PA - Duquesne University's head women's basketball coach Dan Durkin has announced that Brittany Warren (Finleyville, Pa. / Ringgold) has transferred to the University. The 5-9 guard joins the Dukes from Robert Morris University where she started the first five games for the Colonials.

Warren, who will be eligible to practice with the team but not compete, must sit out until the second semester of the 2004-05 season in accordance to NCAA Division I transfer rules. She started all five of her match-ups for the Colonials before deciding to transfer.

Warren led Robert Morris with 18.6 ppg and added 5.8 rebounds per game and is expected to be a solid addition to the Duquesne roster. She was 32-69 (.464) from the field and 29-36 (.806) from the free throw line with Robert Morris. Warren was the Colonials' top scorer in three of the five games and twice hit a personal-best 24 points (Duquesne and West Virginia). Warren also paced the team's rebounding in three outings with her high being nine in the team's win over Seton Hall.

She is expected to have three years of eligibility with Duquesne, her second starting after the Fall 2004 semester.
