Dukes Take Doubleheader At Dayton

Dayton, Ohio - Duquesne University's baseball team ended a six-game losing streak with a doubleheader victory Saturday afternoon over Atlantic 10 West Division foe Dayton at the Flyers' Stuart Field. The Dukes raised their mark to 11-6 in conference play, 20-22 overall. Dayton's season record is now 12-30, 1-16 in the league.

The Dukes pounded out 10 hits in each contest behind the shutout pitching of sophomore Bob Reifschneider (Lower Burrell, PA / Lower Burrell) in the first game and freshman reliever Adam Haun (Polk, PA / Franklin) who gave up just one run in 4 1/3 innings in the day's second seven-inning contest. Reifschneider is now 6-3 while Haun raised his season mark to 3-4.

Senior center fielder Chad Williams (Wexford, PA / North Allegheny) was 3-6 with two RBI, both in the first game. Williams leads the Red and Blue from the plate with a .404 batting average.

Senior first baseman Andy Gallina (Mt. Lebanon, PA / Central Catholic) was 4-8 on the afternoon with three RBI, two in the second contest. And senior designated hitter Sean Wilson (Fox Chapel, PA / Fox Chapel / CCAC-S), who was 3-for-3 in the opener, walked all four times he came to the plate in the nightcap.

The Dukes close out the weekend series with the Flyers at noon Sunday, April 27th at Stuart Field.
