Pittsburgh, PA - Sean Wilson, Duquesne University's senior right fielder, has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Baseball Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Wilson led the Dukes to a three-game sweep over La Salle this weekend at Duquesne Field in Green Tree as the Dukes raised their conference record to 9-3, maintaining sole possession of second place in the West Division, ? game behind the Richmond Spiders.

Wilson had a pair of three-hit games en route to collecting seven hits in nine at-bats along with three walks for a .788 batting average and an .833 on-base percentage. The Fox Chapel High School grad also scored seven runs and drove in six RBI as he helped the Dukes to a 44-13 scoring advantage over the Explorers this weekend.

Wilson drove in six runs on a 3-for-4 outing while scoring three runs in the Dukes' 19-4 victory over the Explorers in Saturday's series opener. He was 3-for-4 with a run scored in the 11-4 nightcup. And in Sunday's finale, Wilson was 1-2 with three walks and two runs scored in the Dukes' 14-5 win.

Wilson leads the team with a blistering .515 average in Conference play. Throughtout the season, his .357 average is good for second on the team as are his 23 RBI. Wilson, who has started all but two of the Dukes' 32 games, leads Duquesne with 24 bases on balls, is tied for the lead with four sacrifices and has a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

This is the first weekly conference award this season for the Dukes, who have raised their overall mark to 17-15.

Duquesne next hosts Cleveland State (6-16, 3-2 Horizon) on Tuesday, April 15th, at 3:00 p.m. at Duquesne Field and travel to Lewisburg, PA for a doubleheader against Bucknell (17-8, 9-3 Patriot League) on Wednesday, April 16th beginning at 1:00 p.m.

DU returns to conference play this weekend when they travel to our nation's capital for a three-game weekend series with West Division foe George Washington (19-11, 1-5 A10) on Saturday & Sunday, April 19-20, 2003 with action getting underway on both days at noon.
