The baseball team spent the morning "Battlin' the Buccos" and came up short, losing a 3-1 decision to the Pittsburgh Pirates in Bradenton, FL Wednesday morning.

Freshman Bob Hartle was impressive on the mound for the Dukes, surrendering just one run in four innings of work. Fellow freshman Gavin Church allowed two runs in two innings and sophomore Ryan McGill pitched one scoreless inning. Duquesne scored its run as junior Pete Maropis singled in junior Dan Schwartzbauer who doubled.

The Dukes return to action this afternoon at 3:00 pm as they face Holy Cross.
