PITTSBURGH - Home games against teams from the Big 10, Big East and SEC highlight a heavyweight non-conference schedule for the 2002-03 Duquesne women's basketball team.
The Dukes, who begin the season with three consecutive home games, host the Big 10's Ohio State Buckeyes in the season opener on Nov. 22. DU hosts cross-town rival Pittsburgh of the Big East on Dec. 3 and concludes the 2002-03 non-conference schedule with a clash with Vanderbilt on Jan. 6. Vandy, the 2002 Southeastern Conference Tournament champion, compiled a 30-7 record in advancing to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 last season.
Duquesne returns four starters from last year's 14-15 team, and will also welcome back 2001 leading scorer Khalihah Este-Shehu (above) who missed last season with a knee injury.
