Alvis Rogers Retires As Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University Director of Athletics Brian Colleary announced the resignation of assistant women's basketball coach Alvis Rogers.

Rogers has been an assistant coach for the Duquesne women's basketball program the past six years under head coach Dan Durkin. He came to Duquesne in 1995 as the Assistant Academic Coordinator for Athletics before joining the Dukes' coaching staff in the 1996-97 season.

Rogers was a four-year standout for Wake Forest where he earned All-America honors and led the Demon Deacons to two NCAA appearances.

He is relinquishing his position to become the top assistant at the University of Pittsburgh.
