Duquesne senior Craig Antolik has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Taking the hill for the final time in his collegiate career, Antolik (Pittsburgh, PA/Woodland Hills/Akron) tossed a no-hitter on Saturday in Duquesne's 9-1 win over La Salle. He allowed one unearned run, struck out two and walked seven as he raised his record to 4-5. This season he had six complete games in his 11 starts and recorded a save in his lone relief appearance. His ERA was 4.95 while leading all DU hurlers with 72 2/3 innings pitched.
Antolik, who transferred to Duquesne from Akron following his sophomore season, completes his collegiate career with a 9-10 record along with two saves. The Pittsburgh native graduated from Woodland Hills High School.
He is the first Duquesne pitcher to toss a no-hitter since Jim Kaminski did so on April 9, 1992, versus Steubenville.
The Dukes close the 2002 campiagn with 26 wins, the highest single-season total in program history.
