James Faint is in his fifth season as an assistant on the Duquesne University men's soccer coaching staff.
During his four seasons on the Bluff, the Dukes have accumulated 40 wins, the highest total for the program in a four-year span since 2003 to 2006. In addition, Duquesne was ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll during both the 2022 and 2024 seasons, peaking at No. 23 in October of 2024.
Faint, who has served as an assistant coach for Steel City FC Women's First Team, competing in the USL W League (USLW), since 2021, is also a Performance Phase Head Coach for Steel City FC. Faint has previously served as the Youth Development Phase (YDP) Head Coach for Pittsburgh Hotspurs Soccer as well as a regional coach for Bridge City. In addition, Faint spent a year coaching at Shady Side Academy in 2017. That season the Bulldogs claimed their first-ever Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) championship.
Faint, who hails from Chester, England, played for Witton Albion (2011-14), Middlewich Town U23’s (2014-15) and Barnton FC (2015-16) in his native country. He holds a First Class Honors Degree (Football Coaching, Development & Administration) from the University of South Wales and has also earned UEFA B and UEFA C Senior and Youth Coaching Licenses through the Welsh FA. He is currently enrolled on the USSF B Coaching License Course.
