Garrett Mack joined the Duquesne defensive staff for the 2024 season after serving as head coach at Notre Dame College (OH), where he led the Falcons to a Mountain East Conference title and an NCAA Division II playoff appearance in 2021, finishing the season 9-3 overall and 9-1 in conference play.

In 2025, Mack will enter his second season on The Bluff, adding the roles of Recruiting Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator to his responsibilities overseeing the defensive line.

In his first season at Duquesne, Mack coached three Dukes to all-conference honors: A.J. Ackerman and Jack Dunkley earned first-team selections, while Jason Patterson garnered a second-team selection, as the Dukes posted an 8-3, 5-1 record share the NEC regular season title. As a unit, the defensive line contributed to DU's 27 sacks on the season, including 17 in league play (the 2nd-most in the NEC). The Dukes also secured the top-ranking red-zone, first-down, and third-down defense in the NEC. Dunkley's 12.5 tackles and 9.5 sacks tied for the NEC lead and ranked 12th in the FCS in sacks per game. Additionally, the Dukes forced four fumbles and recovered three.

Prior to his time as head coach, Mack served as an assistant at Notre Dame College for two years, holding roles as Run Game Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator. Mack’s 2022 defensive unit at Notre Dame led Division II with six defensive touchdowns and held opponents to an 86.73 passing efficiency. He coached 30 Falcons to All-MEC honors, six to all-region honors, and had 10 Academic All-District honorees, including one Academic All-American.

Mack's coaching experience also includes serving as a linebackers coach at Oberlin College (2017, ‘19) and as a wide receivers/strength and conditioning coach at his alma mater, Baldwin Wallace (2018).

Mack graduated from Baldwin Wallace in 2015, where he worked as a student assistant coach. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in health and physical education.
