Duquesne alumnus Frank Ferraro enters his ninth season on the Dukes' women's basketball staff in 2025-26.

Ferraro has continued to help on the defensive side of the floor, most recently assisting a Duquesne defense that consistently pressured opponents. The Dukes led the Atlantic 10 and finished 25th nationally in turnovers forced per game, averaging 20.1. The Dukes also topped the conference in steals, ranking 36th in the nation with 10.3 per contest. They recorded 19 games with double-digit steals and matched the program record with 25 takeaways in a win over Niagara. Throughout the 2024–25 season, Duquesne posted a 16–5 record when holding opponents to 40 percent shooting or lower, and went 16–6 when keeping teams under 70 points.

While also taking a role in player development, Ferraro assisted the head coach in substitution rotations for the 2024-25 season. With the Duquesne’s up-tempo, high-volume style of play, the Dukes played an average of 10 players per contest, including four freshmen

He brings with him over 20 years of experience at the collegiate level, including five seasons (2010-2014) at Washington and Jefferson where he served as the assistant men’s basketball coach and nine years at Waynesburg where he served as the assistant coach for two years and the head coach for seven (2001-2009).

Ferraro enjoyed his most successful season as a collegiate head coach as he led the Yellow Jackets to a 16-11 overall record, a 7-5 conference record and an appearance in the PAC Championship game. As an assistant he helped guide Waynesburg to both 18 and 16-win seasons in 2001-02 and 2002-03 respectively.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Frank brings with him over 20 years of high school level experience including stints at Moon High School, Burgettstown High School and South Fayette High School. With over 200 wins at Burgettstown, Ferraro remains the winningest coach in school history including 12 WPIAL playoff appearances, five section championships and two appearances in the state playoffs.

Frank is a 1975 graduate of Duquesne University and resides in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania with his wife Barbara.
