Diane Gibson enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Duquesne Track & Field program. She brings extensive coaching experience from nearby Canon-McMillan High School, where she helped guide the Big Macs to two WPIAL district championships and 10 WPIAL section titles while coaching more than 30 WPIAL medalists, including two WPIAL individual champions and a pair of PIAA state medalists, along with numerous PIAA state qualifiers.
A Duquesne graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business management, Gibson will work with the Dukes in multiple event areas, including pole vault, mid-distance, and distance. She also served as an assistant coach for Canon-McMillan cross country and spent two seasons as an assistant cross country / track & field coach at Saint Francis University (Pa.), where she earned a master’s degree in education and leadership.
