Amy Read enters her second season as assistant diving coach during the 2024-25 campaign. Read joined the Dukes ahead of the 2023-24 season after a superior season as a diver for Duquesne.
In her lone season with the Dukes in 2022-23, Read capped a stellar career by qualifying for the NCAA national championships for the fifth consecutive year and was named the 2023 Atlantic 10 Diver of the Year. At the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championships, Read, a native of Leeds, England, claimed gold in the one-meter dive by posting a score of 286.45 while also earning bronze in the three-meter dive at 298.75. In the Duquesne record book, Read set a new program standard for the one-meter thanks to a score of 296.10 that she established at the Richmond Duals in October of 2022.
Accomplished in the classroom, as well, Read was one of three Dukes named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) 2023 Individual Scholar All-America Team. Read posted a perfect 4.00 grade point average (GPA) during the 2022-23 academic year while pursuing a Master of Arts degree in communication. Read was also an A-10 All-Academic Team and College Sports Communicator (CSC) Academic All-District 2 selection and was one of 17 nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year from the A-10.Â
Prior to competing at Duquesne, Read spent four seasons with the swimming & diving program at the University of Pittsburgh. While with the Panthers, Read became the first diver in program history to qualify for the NCAA national championships four consecutive years. She owns the program record for platform at 322.50, which she established in her final season at the Western Pa. Invite.Â
