Steven Rerick joined the Duquesne men's soccer coaching staff in February of 2024 and tutors the goalkeepers for the Dukes.
In his first year as assistant with the Dukes, Rerick was instrumental in the development of goalkeeper Zoltan Nagy, who was a three-time Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week en route to earning 2024 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team accolades. Nagy led the A-10 in saves (72) and ranked second in saves per game (4.24).
Since 2020, Rerick has been director of goalkeeping and assistant coach for Steel City FC, where he provides goalkeeper training for all levels within the club, creating a curriculum to encourage growth athletically and individually. He also works with senior staff on incorporating goalkeepers into training sessions, create individual player profiles and perform in-game assessement.
As an an assistant coach for Steel City FC, Rerick, a native of Mountain Top, Pa., assists with the U15 through U18 boys teams in planning, in-game management, play evaluation and development. Rerick has also served as a volunteer goalkeeper coach with Steel City FC First Team in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) since 2021.
Rerick is a 2018 graduate of Slippery Rock, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in both public health and psychology. He also owns a Master of Public Health from Slippery Rock, which he earned in 2020. While earning his master's degree, Rerick served as a graduate assistant coach with the SRU program.
In all, Rerick spent four years on the coaching staff at Slippery Rock from 2018 to 2021 after a playing career with the program that saw him post a career record of 20-15-1 (.569) in 39 games, including 36 starts, from 2013 to 2017. He was a member of two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship squads (2013, 2015) and posted career totals of 193 saves, a .785 save percentage and 1.48 goals against average as well as nine career shutouts. In 2015, Rerick was selected as the SRU Men's Soccer Rock Man of the Year, which is bestowed to individuals that excel in academics, community service and professionalism off the field.
In addition to his time as a student-athlete, graduate assistant and assistant coach at Slippery Rock, Rerick spent the 2022 season as the goalkeeper coach at Carnegie Mellon University. While with the Tartans, Rerick was responsible for the development of the goalkeepers and assisted in player recruitment, data management, scouting, film breakdown and analysis and travel.Â
Rerick owns a U.S. National C Coaching License as well as an Advanced National Goalkeeping License and International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS) Data Analysis Level I Accreditation.
