Gavin Block, a former two-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference player and two-time team captain at Ohio University, is in his first season as a graduate assistant at Duquesne.
The 6-7 swingman, who played in 121 games - with 72 starts - for the Bobcats from 2016-19, finished his career with 847 points, including 141 3-pointers, and 285 assists. He was part 20-win teams as a freshman and sophomore and led Ohio in assists (106) as a junior and 3-point shooting percentage (.354) as a senior. He did not miss a game over his final three seasons.
The Lincoln, Ill. native was named third team all-state after leading Lincoln Community to an Illinois High School Association regional final appearance as a senior. He was a second team all-state pick as a junior after helping the Railsplitters to the Illinois state title game in 2013-14.
Block completed his undergraduate degree in specialized studies at Ohio in 2019. He is pursuing a master of science degree in leadership at Duquesne.
