3rd Season at Duquesne

Andy Allison, who has been part of NCAA Tournament teams at both Memphis and Massachusetts, brings nearly 20 years of experience - including nine in the Atlantic 10 - as both an administrator and coach to the Duquesne staff.

Most recently an assistant coach at Division III Stockton University (Galloway, N.J.) for three seasons, Allison spent nine years as part of Derek Kellogg’s staff at Massachusetts from 2008-09 through 2016-17.

While at UMass, Allison was part of a pair of NIT teams (2012 & 2013) and one NCAA Tournament team (2014). He served on the administrative level - handling everything from academic support, to team travel to civic involvement - before being elevated to assistant coach for his final three seasons, where his focus moved to player development, scouting and recruiting.

Prior to UMass, Allison spent time in a basketball operations role under John Calipari at the University of Memphis. He was a graduate assistant for Tigers teams that won a NIT title in 2002 and earned the school’s first NCAA Tournament berth in seven years in 2003. After spending one year as director of operations at Western Kentucky, he returned to Memphis in an operations capacity and was part of three more NCAA Tournament teams. The Tigers won 30 or more games three times and finished as the 2008 NCAA runner-up during Allison’s second stint at Memphis.

The Columbus, Ohio native got his start in coaching as an assistant and head junior varsity coach at Division III Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State in 2000.

Allison and his wife, Jocelyn, have a home in Longport, New Jersey.
